DESCRIPTION

Undergraduate thesis which is an in-vitro meat farm in central Manchester to feed the local population. In Vitro meat is meat which is grown from stem cells forming real meat with the need for an animal!

The proposed site lies next to the River Irk in Manchester. The building hugs the entrance to an underground route of the river like a mosquito. Along the rivers underground path there is a secret 200 years old cattle bridge buried beneath the layers of modern Manchester.

The meat is grown using cyanobacteria delivered by train and grown in hypothetical pods above the river.

The project was theoretical but eventually the world's first lab grown beef burger was manufactured and eaten in London in 2013.
